Seeing Double: Two Covers for GE Aviation in October

October was a magazine cover boom for GE Aviation. From GE9X to Catalyst, customers, tech enthusiasts and aviation fans were treated to two covers featuring GE Aviation's latest innovations.

“GE’s Giant GE9X” was featured on the October 18-28 cover of Aviation Week. The GE9X engine, the world’s largest commercial turbofan, will begin the second stage of flight testing in November. Development of the engine selected exclusively to power Boeing’s 777X dual aisle aircraft is about halfway through certification testing. The engine is expected to enter service in 2020.

Flying Cover



 

The October cover of Flying magazine featured the Cessna Denali, powered by the new GE Catalyst. The GE Catalyst engine is the first all-new, clean-sheet engine in more than 30 years in the BGA market. It's the first turboprop engine in its class to introduce two stages of variable stator vanes and cooled high-pressure turbine blades.

“GE has created more than 100 patents on the 98 new technologies used in the Catalyst.”
