GE Aviation has signed an Enterprise Partnering Agreement (EPA) with the U.S. Air Force (USAF) that will serve to more rapidly leverage and deploy GE’s best commercial practices to the maintenance depot at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
The partnering approach gives the USAF and GE the ability to sit side-by-side to work on strategic solutions to support the warfighter. The agreement will focus on projects that increase speed and productivity, such as faster engine production rates, improved supply support for spare parts, as well as improved repair development, process engineering, work scoping, forecasting material, and repair-or-buy decisions.
This is the second major collaboration agreement for GE to support the USAF in the last year. The Performance Based Logistics (PBL) contract signed in 2014 between GE and the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), known as the F-Series Captains of Industry (COI), provides improved parts availability to the USAF while reducing inventory for DLA.
“The EPA creates avenues for GE to provide a broader range of support to USAF,” said Matt Kress, General Manager Military Customer Services. “It shows our commitment to USAF to provide mutually impactful support for the warfighter.”
