J-AIR Signs 10-Year OnPoint Solution Agreement for Its CF34-8E Engine Fleet

TOKYO -- J-AIR Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Japan Airlines, has signed a 10-year OnPoint solution agreement with GE Aviation for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of its new CF34-8E engines powering 10 Embraer ERJ170 aircraft. 

Delivery of the ERJ170 aircraft to the airline began in 2008. 

"We have recently introduced the ERJ170 into our operations, and we are focusing heavily on its performance as it will become key to J-AIR's main fleet," said Yoshihiro Watanabe, Managing Director - Maintenance Department of J-AIR. "Therefore, the reliability of its engines is very important. J-AIR strongly expects GE Aviation to perform outstanding and economical maintenance, repair, and overhaul for our CF34 engines."

"We have provided a similar maintenance program for their CF34-3B fleet since 2002 and this new program will further enhance our relationship with J-AIR. It is GE's commitment to provide J-AIR with the highest quality of engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul."
