GMF AeroAsia Signs Component Repair Contract with GE

JAKARTA, Indonesia - GMF AeroAsia and GE Transportation Aircraft Engines today signed a two-year component repair contract worth approximately $10 million over the life of the contract. 

GMF AeroAsia, the maintenance arm of Garuda Indonesian Airlines, was established in 1984. Today, it provides maintenance and overhaul support of the engines in the airline's fleet, in addition to supporting other third-party customers at its facilities in Jakarta. 

GE's service facility in Singapore will provide the majority of the component repair under the new contract.

GE Transportation, Aircraft Engines, an operating component of General Electric Company (NYSE: GE), is a leading global manufacturer of aircraft engines and a provider of maintenance and support services for operators of GE and non-GE engines. In addition to overhaul and repair, GE provides service solutions for customers maintenance needs, including component repair, on-wing support, and spare parts. 

GE's service operation also maintains engine accessories and key aircraft accessories, provides remote diagnostics monitoring of aircraft in flight, and offers a full range of engine leasing plans. In 2004, the company posted commercial service revenues of $5 billion.
