FARNBOROUGH- General Electric Company received more than $2.5 billion in engine orders and OnPointSM Solutions service agreements at the 2006 Farnborough Air Show.
The announced deals include: -Egypt's AMC Airlines signed a 10-year, $40M OnPointSM Solutions service agreement for its CFM56-7B-powered Boeing Next Generation 737-800 fleet.
-International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC) selected GEnx engines to power up to 24 Boeing 787 aircraft, including firm and options. The company also selected GE90 engines to power eight new Boeing 777 aircraft. The engines are valued at more than $750 million.
- Emirates ordered 10 GEnx-powered Boeing 747-8 freighters. The 45-engines purchased are valued at more than $600 million dollars. -Cathay Pacific Airways signed a 20-year, $1 billion OnPointSM Solutions service agreement to cover its 40 GE90-115B engines on its Boeing 777-300ER fleet.
-GE and Samsung Techwin, Co. LTD, signed a contract to develop the T700 turboshaft engine for the Korean Helicopter Program. The Republic of Korea has selected GE's T700/701K engines to power 245 new indigenous helicopters.
-TAP Portugal ordered CF6 engines for five Airbus A330 aircraft and signed a nine-year, OnPointSM Solutions service agreement for these engines. The combined value on the engines and service agreement is more than $195 million.
