GE Opens Phoenix On Wing SupportSM Facility

EVENDALE, OHIO - June 21, 2000 - GE On Wing Support, Inc., a subsidiary of General Electric Company, has opened its newest On Wing Support center near Phoenix, Arizona's Sky Harbor International Airport, in Chandler, Arizona.Providing on wing engine maintenance and repair by dispatching rapid response teams to airline customers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, GE On Wing Support - Phoenix also provides quick "hospital shop" and line maintenance repairs to engines manufactured by GE, CFM, IAE, and Pratt & Whitney. "Phoenix is an excellent addition to GE Engine Services' On Wing Support Network because it brings us closer to the customer," said Andy Solem, president of GE On Wing Support. "We can significantly improve our customers' competitiveness by responding to their needs quickly and efficiently, and our Phoenix location allows us to do that for customers in the western region of the United States." GE's Phoenix shop will maintain and repair CFM56, V2500, JT8D, and CF34 engines. With plans for at least twenty locations worldwide, GE currently operates On Wing Support facilities in the U.S. at the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, near Cincinnati, Ohio; JFK Airport in New York; Los Angeles International Airport in Los Angeles, California; Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas; and, Miami, Florida. GE On Wing Support centers are also located in the U.K. at Heathrow and Luton Airports; in China, at GE On Wing Support (Xiamen) in Fujian Province; in Seoul, South Korea; and in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. SM On Wing Support is a service mark of General Electric Company.
