Lynn, Mass. -- Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) has awarded GE Aviation a contract to overhaul up to 757 T700-401/401C engines, cold section modules and power turbine modules for the SH-60 helicopter over the next five years. The overhauls will be performed at GE's Engine Services operation in Strother, Kansas.
The initial year of the fixed-price contract covers 97 engines/modules and is valued at $11,361,435. Terms of the contract provide for up to four additional option years and, if completely exercised, the estimated total value could top $100 million.

The T700-401/401C is the 1,700-1,890 shaft-horsepower engine variant powering the twin-engine Sikorsky SH-60B/F and H Seahawk models. In addition, the T700-401C also powers the Sikorsky MH-60R/S and Bell UH-1Y and AH-1Z helicopters.
GE's successful T700/CT7 family of turboprop and turboshaft engines currently powers 25 types of helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft in service with more than 130 customers in more than 50 countries.
