Air Canada Commits to GE's OnPoint Solution Agreement for CF34 Engines

LE BOURGET - Air Canada has committed to a 5-year OnPointSM solution agreement for a firm fixed price on time and material to repair and overhaul its CF34-8E engines that power its EMBRAER 175 aircraft. The value of the OnPoint solution agreement is not disclosed.

"GE is pleased Air Canada has signed an OnPoint solution agreement with our improved firm fixed price structure," said Paul McElhinney, president of GE Aviation's services operation. "The firm fixed price is designed to make shop visit cost more predictable and affordable to operators and is backed by GE's strong performance guarantees, such as EGT margin, time-on-wing as well as competitive turn-time."

"We are very happy to be moving forward with GE's solution for our CF34-8 engines," said Klaus Goersch, Air Canada's Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. "OnPoint will provide Air Canada with the best overall maintenance solution in support of our Embraer E175 fleet of aircraft."

Air Canada operates a large GE and CFM56* powered fleet including CF34-powered Embraer E175/190s and Bombardier CRJ 200/705s, GE90-powered Boeing 777s, CF6-powered Boeing 767s and CFM56-powered Airbus A320s. Air Canada has an order for GEnx-powered Boeing 787 Dreamliners.

OnPoint solutions are customized service agreements tailored to the operational and financial needs of each customer for any size fleet.
