Aviall purchases GE CF34-3 leased engines, LRUs, new and used material

November 16, 2015

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – November 16, 2015 – Aviall, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, signed an agreement with GE Aviation to become the sole provider of all CF34-3 parts for business jets. The agreement includes used and new parts, used line-replaceable units (LRUs) and lease engines powering the Bombardier Challenger 601, 604, 605, 650 and 850 aircraft.

The announcement builds on previous CF34-3 agreements between the two companies. In October 2014, Aviall became the sole provider of GE CF34-3A and CF34-3A2 used material and lease engines powering the Bombardier Challenger 601. The ownership transfer built on an exclusive distributor agreement launched in 2009, where Aviall became responsible for forecasting, ordering, and delivering all genuine Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) replacement parts that are unique to CF34-3 engines.

The new agreement continues to leverage Aviall’s worldwide part distribution capabilities.

"For nearly seven years, Aviall has demonstrated its excellence in customer service distributing OEM spare parts for GE's CF34 powered business jets," said Tom Hoferer, General Manager of Commercial, Service and Support for GE’s Business and General Aviation business. "Based on the success of this relationship, we are confident all of our CF34-3 customers will receive the same high quality level of access and support for all their maintenance needs through Aviall."

“We are pleased to continue growing our relationship with GE. We believe the customers who depend on the CF34-3 family of engines will realize added benefits from our ever-expanding relationship,” said Aviall President and CEO Ed Dolanski. “By providing full engine support for the entire Challenger fleet, we are simplifying the supply chain; thus ensuring that quality service and convenience remain the top priority for all our customers.”

Since its service entry in 1983 on the Challenger 601 Corporate Jet, the CF34 has earned an industry-leading reputation as one of the cleanest, quietest and most fuel-efficient engines in its class. These rugged, airliner-class powerplants set a new standard in corporate aviation for reliability and low maintenance costs.

Across the CF34 family, GE has delivered more than 6,000 engines and continuously invests in product enhancements. Today, CF34 engines are in service with 200 operators in more than 70 countries.

Aviall operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of the Boeing Company, supporting both commercial and defense business units within Boeing. Aviall is a leading solutions provider of aftermarket supply-chain management services for the aerospace and defense industries.
