DALLAS, TX – March 12, 2025 – GE Aerospace (NYSE:GE) is proud to celebrate 25 years of partnership with StandardAero, a collaboration that has played a vital role in supporting Canada’s military aviation fleet through world-class engine assembly and maintenance services.
Under contract to GE Aerospace in Canada, StandardAero Limited of Richmond, BC has assembled and maintained GE Aerospace’s T700 and CT7 engines, which power key Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) aircraft, including:
- the Leonardo Cormorant CH-149 search and rescue helicopters
- the Sikorsky Cyclone CH-148 maritime helicopters
Beyond assembly, these high-performance engines are also overhauled at StandardAero’s Richmond facility, ensuring the continued reliability and operational readiness of Canada’s military aircraft.
A Legacy of Trusted Support
GE Aerospace’s relationship with StandardAero extends even further back. Before its acquisition, AcroHelipro (now StandardAero) played a key role in maintaining GE Aerospace’s T64 and T58 engines that powered Canada’s retired Buffalo and Sea King aircraft. This deep-rooted collaboration has contributed to decades of support for Canada’s defense aviation needs.
“For 25 years, StandardAero has been a trusted partner in delivering high-quality assembly and overhaul services for our engines, ensuring Canada’s military fleets remain mission-ready,” said Lisa Wade, general manager of Mobility Engines and Marine at GE Aerospace. “We look forward to continuing this strong partnership, advancing aerospace innovation, and supporting Canada’s defense and search-and-rescue operations for years to come.”
Neena Gill, vice president and general manager, StandardAero Helicopter Programs, adds: “Our partnership with GE Aerospace is a testament to our shared commitment to delivering exceptional engine assembly and maintenance services that support the critical missions of the Royal Canadian Air Force and our other commercial and military customers. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with GE Aerospace well into the future.”
