T64 Repair of Repairables Contract: GE Aviation has been awarded a two year (FY 2016-2017), $94.6 million Repair of Repairables (ROR) contract from the US Navy covering the repair and program support for 17 Heads of Family (HOF) and 33 different contract line items in support of the T64 engine powering the H-53 heavy lift aircraft.

This contract builds on the success of a series of previous T64 ROR contracts dating back to May 2006. Procurement arrangement is a firm fixed price contract for a forecasted volume of Head of Family repairs. GE Aviation has partnered with Fleet Readiness Center East (Cherry Point, NC) for the repair and overhaul of 100% of the ROR components. This partnership has been quoted as best in class at Fleet Readiness Center East and resulted in improved availability and operational readiness for the maintainers and operators of the T64 engine.

In addition to the GE facilities in Lynn, MA, GE Supply Chain in Rutland, VT and Madisonville, KY will provide parts for this ROR contract along with other key suppliers.

Three T64 engines power the USMC CH-53E Super Stallion and US Navy MH-53E Sea Stallion. The T64 engines for the CH-53E and MH-53E are rated at 4,750 shaft horsepower and have been the backbone of heavy lift for over 50 years. The US Military has taken delivery of over 1,300 engines with more than 4 million engine flight hours accumulated to date.

GE Aviation is also nearing completion of qualification testing of the GE38-1B (designated as theT408-GE-400) turbo shaft engine for use in the CH-53K King Stallion heavy lift helicopter being developed by Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation. First flight of the aircraft is currently scheduled for late 2015 at Sikorsky’s Flight Development Center in West Palm Beach.

T700 Performance Based Logistics (PBL) Contract: GE Aviation has been awarded a three year (FY 2016-2018), $79.6 million Performance Based Logistics (PBL) contract from the US Navy covering 4 Heads of Family (HOF) line items in support of the T700-401 and T700-401C engine.

This contract builds on the success of a series of previous T700 PBL contracts dating back to September 2004. Procurement arrangement is a monthly firm fixed price encompassing receiving, asset repair, warehousing, inventory management, packing, shipping, electronic data interchange requisitioning and commercial asset visibility reporting transactions. GE Aviation has partnered with GE Engine Services, Strother Field/Winfield, Kansas, for the repair of the PBL components.

GE facilities in Lynn, MA, Hooksett NH and Madisonville, KY will provide new spare parts supporting this PBL contract in addition to other key suppliers.

Two T700-401 engines power the US Navy AH-1W and AH-1Z aircraft, while two T700-401C engines power the US Navy AH-1Z, UH-1Y, MH-60R, and MH-60S aircraft. These engines have been in the Navy fleet for over 32 years. The 401 engines are rated at 1690 shaft horsepower and the 401C engines are rated at 1800 shaft horse power. The US Navy has taken delivery of over 455 401 engines and 1,880 401C engines with more than 9 million engine total flight hours accumulated to date.
