LE BOURGET, France -- United Airlines has signed an agreement with Embraer to purchase 20 firm ERJ175 aircraft, with the option to purchase 19 additional ERJ175 aircraft. These aircraft will all be equipped with GE CF34-8E5 engines. The engines from this firm order are valued at more than $250 million (USD) at list price.

In 1992, GE's CF34 engine family helped launch a new era in regional jet aviation, and it continues to set the standard for performance, durability and world-class reliability. More than 5,200 CF34 engines are in service, and the engine family has accumulated more than 160 million flight hours on Bombardier, Embraer and Comac aircraft. For the CF34-8E engines, close to 3,000 are in service with more than 90 operators.
