Azorra Aviation Signs New Set Maintenance Offer Agreement for CF34-10E Engines

June 18, 2019

LE BOURGET, France -- Azorra Aviation and GE Aviation signed a Set Maintenance Offer (SMO) agreement for its CF34-10E engine fleet to help significantly reduce the engine's cost of ownership. The SMO agreement is available to all CF34-10E customers, regardless of their maintenance, repair and overhaul provider.

"Recent durability improvements have helped the CF34-10E engine become one of the most reliable GE engines in the field," said David Kircher, general manager of Regional Engines and Services at GE Aviation. "The new SMO agreement will reduce the cost of the LLP (Life Limited Parts) shop visit by 30 percent, which is a significant savings for our CF34-10E customers."

"We believe that the SMO program will bring more predictability to the cost of ownership for our CF34-10E operators and will help Azorra grow its fleet of CF34-10E-powered E190 aircraft," said Azorra founder and CEO John Evans. "We are pleased with GE Aviation's continued commitment to the CF34-10E program."

"Embraer appreciates GE Aviation's focus on making the E1 even more efficient and the significant cost reductions that the SMO kit will bring to our customers," said Arjan Meijer, Embraer Chief Commercial Officer.

Customers can purchase the SMO agreement for parts only or incorporate it into an overhaul agreement with GE Aviation. Under the SMO agreement, customers receive the following parts: high pressure compressor blades, combustor dome, inner and outer combustor liners, high pressure turbine blades and nozzles, Stage 1 low pressure turbine nozzles and a brand-new stack of rotating LLPs. The 1,650 CF34-10E engines will start requiring their LLP shop visit beginning later this year.

Since its service entry, the CF34-10E engine has accumulated 20 million flight hours and 28 million flight cycles. The E-jet and CF34 engine-aircraft combination is one of the best-selling single aisle regional jets, and GE Aviation continues to invest to further improve the engine.
